Message I currently live in Orlando. I am thinking about buying a Z in Fort Lauderdale (3 hours away). The owner is an older guy in his late 60s. From talking to him everyday(except Sunday) for about a week he "seem" like a pretty ok guy. He's been honest and upfront with me about the z itself. He owned the z for about 8 years and barely drove it the last 4 due to the fact that his arthritis is getting worse. But to fast forward the story. I originally was going to drive the z home 3hrs away after looking at it and test driving it. However he informed me that he rarely drove it (maybe 3 or 4 times max per year for 4 years). Test driving isn't a problem which I will be doing Saturday however he said he doesn't feel comfortable me driving it on the turnpike for 3 + hours when it has barely been driven for about 4 years. That it would damage the car. All this makes sense. But... Me being the type of person I am I strongly insisted on driving it home.. He said that he would feel really guilty if I drove the z back home (3 hrs +) and something happened. So he offered to ship the car to me. Expenses paid by him. I'm heading there Saturday to test drive the car and possibly pay for it, receive title etc. But my question is. Should I allow this guy pay for the shipping and have it shipped to my address? Should i pay for shipping myself or get a truck and car carrier? All advice would be greatly appreciated.
